PRS Guitars is proud to officially announce the PRS SE amplifier line. Modeled after the acclaimed PRS SE line of guitars, this new amp line continues the concept of providing affordable musical instruments and equipment without sacrificing tone, usability, or quality.

Since his legendary performance at the 1969 Woodstock Festival, Carlos Santana has been moving audiences around the world with his rich, warm musical style. There are only a handful of guitarists able to find their signature tone and keep it fresh and relevant over many decades. Santana is one of those few. We had the opportunity to talk to Carlos and his band while they were wrapping up their residency gig at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Carlos's signature guitar tone and how a player can develop his or her own voice were the main topics of the day. Paul Reed Smith, Nicky Moroch and Michael Ault recently met up at Paul’s studio to record new video demonstrations of some choice PRS amplifiers. Paul Reed Smith and many talented PRS artists performed during the Dallas International Guitar Show April 15 – 17. PRS’s groundbreaking Quest for Tone series returned for a second year, giving an up close and personal experience to guests intrigued by PRS’s versatile and innovative new instruments, including the new 2-Channel “H” amp and Tonare Grand acoustic, while offering “ear opening” comparisons between PRS and what many consider to be the Holy Grail instruments of our time. Paul Reed Smith Guitars is proud to welcome Fredrik Åkesson – guitarist and backing vocalist for the landmark prog metal band Opeth – to the PRS family of SE signature artists. His new signature model, the SE Fredrik Åkesson, is being unveiled in Frankfurt, Germany during the Musikmesse 2011, April 6 – 9. Model features include a single cutaway maple top with quilted maple veneer and thick mahogany back, a 24.5” scale length, 22 fret wide fat mahogany neck with ebony fretboard and PRS bird inlays, and a Tone Pros adjustable stoptail bridge. Forntida Brun, Swedish for “Ancient Brown,” is the exclusive finish option for Åkesson’s signature model electric guitar.
